SpawnBox 1.4.0 is the Plus release. There is now a plan between Free and Pro, the whole app speaks the new plan language, and three weeks of fixes ride along - including two that people wrote in about.
Meet SpawnBox Plus
Plus is our new middle plan at $5/month or $50/year. It leads with the two things home server admins ask us for most: an address for your server that stays the same (no more re-sharing a changed address with your players), and a scoreboard you can publish to a web page that anyone can visit - your players can check standings from their phone without opening anything.
Plus also includes 3D animated player models, CPU and memory detail in performance insights, console autocomplete, auto-start, and scheduled restarts. The full comparison lives on our pricing page, and every email, receipt, and in-app message now knows exactly which plan you’re on.
Every plan has a color now
Plans are color-coded the way gamers already read item rarity: Free is white, Plus is green, Pro is blue. The same color means the same plan everywhere - on the badge for the plan you own, and on the badge for a feature you don’t have yet. The old crown icons are retired; color is the system now.
Your account page grew up
The upgrade page on your account site now shows every plan side by side, with monthly and annual pricing inside each plan’s card and Free listed plainly underneath. This one lives on the web, so you get it without updating the app.
Two things there needed fixing, and we want to be straight about both. Invite codes could not be redeemed at all - the app was routing everyone straight past the only screen that had a redeem form. Redemption now lives on the web, and it asks you to confirm before claiming so a mistyped code stays unspent. And receipts were unreachable for most paying customers - the link to your billing history only existed for two kinds of accounts. Now anyone who has ever paid can reach their invoices.
No flash of locks while the app wakes up
On a cold start, paying customers could briefly see padlocks and upgrade prompts on features they already own, for the moment before the app finished checking their plan. Gated surfaces now stay neutral until the app knows who you are - and if the app can’t reach the internet at all, it falls back to a sensible answer instead of waiting forever.
Staying signed in
A rare Windows condition could sign you out permanently, with no way back short of signing in from scratch. The app now checks that Windows can safely store your new sign-in before letting go of the old one, retries if the save is refused, and never replays a sign-in it knows has gone bad.
Fixes people wrote in about
Deleting the world your server was playing left the server unable to start. Reported by a player with a diagnostic package (thank you - those genuinely help). The server now switches to another world you still have, or clears the setting if that was your last one, and says so plainly.
Live player details could come through empty or quietly stale on servers using the SpawnBox Telemetry Datapack - that’s everything except Paper servers, which use the Telemetry Plugin and were unaffected. One trigger was as simple as the first player joining with empty hands. The detection is now structural and can’t be thrown off by what a player is carrying.
Closing the window during a diagnostic package build lost your place. The tray entry now takes you back into it, running or finished, and the notes you typed survive closing the dialog.
Safer installs and updates
An update that fails partway now restores your previous working version instead of leaving the app with nothing to start. Everything in the installer is now signed, including the uninstaller and the app window itself. The download is a little smaller, and we added checks on our side so a release can never quietly ship missing a piece - the kind of thing you should never notice, which is the point.
The small stuff
The auto-start setting now says what it actually does: it starts your server when the PC comes up and restarts it if it stops unexpectedly (with a limit, so a genuinely broken server doesn’t restart forever). The restart menu explains when you’d want each option. Pop-up explanations keep their content inside the box. Little things, but they add up.
