A clearer console, modded-server tracking, and honest error messages
Full activity tracking on Forge and NeoForge, a more readable console, clear errors when something fails, and your pick of update channel.
Highlights
- · Forge and NeoForge servers now get full activity tracking. Player joins and leaves, sessions, deaths, and chat show up in your Activity feed and Connected Players view - powered by SpawnBox's Telemetry Datapack - where before they came up empty on those server types.
- · The Console is readable again. Server events are color-coded, the green 'Done!' startup line stays green instead of fading to grey, and a server's earlier history now shows the same rich formatting as its live output.
- · More of your server's log is recognized. Chat messages and additional kinds of player deaths are now formatted properly instead of blending into the plain text, and the constant behind-the-scenes admin-connection chatter is dimmed so it stays available for troubleshooting without cluttering your Activity feed.
- · When an action fails, SpawnBox now says so. We closed a class of silent failures - starting a server, importing a world, saving whitelist or operator changes, or sending chat could previously fail while the app still showed success. Those now surface a clear error, and the first-run setup screen can no longer get stuck on 'Starting...'. If you ever see an action that seems to do nothing, please send a report from Diagnostics so we can catch any we missed.
- · You can choose your update channel. The Release (stable) channel is now available in Settings, and each channel clearly shows which plan it needs - so it is obvious what you are switching to.
- · If SpawnBox can't get its background engine running, it now stops after a few tries and shows you a clear status, instead of retrying forever in the background.
This one is a mix of things you asked for and things we found while going through the app with a fine-tooth comb.
Full activity tracking on Forge and NeoForge
If you run a Forge or NeoForge server, the big one is activity tracking. Player joins and leaves, sessions, deaths, and chat now show up in your Activity feed and Connected Players view the same way they always have for vanilla servers, powered by the SpawnBox Telemetry Datapack that rides alongside your world. On those modded server types it used to come up empty. Now it doesn’t.
A console you can actually read
The Console got a real cleanup. Events are color-coded and readable, the green “Done!” startup line stays green instead of fading out, and a server’s earlier history now shows the same rich formatting as its live output. The routine behind-the-scenes admin chatter is dimmed so it stays available when you are troubleshooting without cluttering everything else.
When something fails, we say so
This is the one we care most about. We went looking for places where an action could quietly fail while the app still looked like it succeeded - starting a server, importing a world, saving a whitelist or operator change, sending a chat message - and made each of them surface a clear error instead. First-run setup can no longer get stuck on “Starting…” either.
Choose your update channel
You can now choose your update channel, including the Release channel, right in Settings, with each channel clearly showing which plan it needs.
No more retrying forever
And if SpawnBox cannot get its background engine running, it now stops after a few tries and shows you a clear status instead of retrying forever in the background.
